This week at dancing
Elections and Slavadillo!!!
SlavadilloElection night!!! Come enjoy a lively evening of dancing with DJ Holly Plotner and her assistant John Ramage. The evening will include a couple sets of live music sets provided by Slavadillo.

At around 9:30 AIFD will hold its annual elections for a new Board of Trustees.

MadelineFranklinTeaching: Don't miss another one of Madeline Brock's engaging and interesting newcomer sessions, beginning promptly at 7:30 p.m. Later in the evening Franklin Houston will review Gerakina and Kacerac. You can find the notes for both dances on the dance notes page maintained by Franklin.

Upcoming "other dance" features:
Saturday, May 17th - German Dancers perform at Anhalt.
The famous Anhalt Maifest is taking place this Saturday (May 17) afternoon from 12 to 5 pm. AIFD will perform German dances around 2:30 pm with 11 dancers, led by Michel Breger. Join us for afternoon fun, real German food and Texas polka/waltz/folk dancing. The address is Anhalt Hall, 2390 Anhalt Road, Spring Branch, just North of San Antonio. You can still make it back in time for the evening AIFD dancing.
Friday, May 23rd - Planet Music: Middle Eastern!!!
Head down to the Dougherty Arts Center from 7-9 on Friday, May 23rd, to enjoy some lively Middle Eastern dancing and music at Planet Music's Middle Eastern show. Performing groups will include 1001 Nights Orchestra, Ravaan Persian Dancers, and some familiar faces from the Austin International Folk Dancers. This event is sponsored by the City of Austin Department of Recreation and coordinated by our own Genevieve Kent.
Friday. May 30th - Korobushka and Kolorash!!
An evening of dancing and music not to be missed. Enjoy Korobushka and Kolorash back to back on Friday, May 30th, starting at 8pm at the fabulous Monkey Nest, 5353 Burnet Rd. Korobushka, with lead singer Genevieve Kent, will kick off the evening. Genevieve will then join Lisa Schneider and Kolorash, along with Yosuke Kimura on Kontra, Don Weeda on accordion, and Eric Vormelker on Bass.
