Friday, June 3rd: Live Music with Homegrown!
Enjoy a fun evening of dancing featuring live international folk and contra music by Homegrown! This band originated at the 2004 Home Grown Contra BandTexas Camp to provide live music for contras. Eventually, the Austin members of that band formed a group to play contra (and later international) music for contra and folk dance events. Homegrown musicians include Anne Alexander (saz, hurdy gurdy, whistle, fiddle, and percussion), Norris Foster Harrell (keyboard and vocals), Holly Plotner (fiddle and vocals), Joane Rylander (mandolin, percussion, and vocals), Franklin Houston (trumpet, accordion, and Moldvai flute), and Dena Houston (guitar and percussion).
