Holly PlotnerRosieLee SalinasEnjoy a fun night of folk dancing with DJ Holly Plotner. Holly will be assisted by RosieLee Salinas. Holly welcomes Women Singing** for a short live set starting at 8:30.

**Women Singing was formed in March 2014 and sings a variety of harmony-based music from around the world. Members are Joane Rylander, Anne Alexander, Dee McCandless, Kathleen McDonagh, Yoshimi Masuo, and Holly Plotner. Dena and Franklin Houston will be accompanying.

Teaching:Franklin Houston Franklin Houston will start the evening with the next class of our spring 2015 newcomers' semester. The semester presents dance fundamentals and etiquette, introduced through some of our favorite folk dances and is a great way for newcomers to learn what is so fun about dancing in general and folk dancing in particular.

Saturday, January 31st
7:30-10:45 pm
$5 at the door 17 & older. 16 & under free.
Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Hancock Rec Center (HRC)

Please remember to sign in when you come to dancing. The city uses the sign in sheet to track the usage of HRC.

Planet Music January 2015Thank you so much for participating in the Planet Music Dance Around the World event last Friday, January 23rd. It was a wonderfully successful event, largely thanks to your participation and energy! And it was a true joy to see how you engaged with the local community and left a big impression on the families who attended. Mark your 2015 calendar for a full day of performances, workshops, jamming, silent auction and more at the Austin Friends of Traditional Music's annual Mid-Winter Festival, Dougherty Arts Center, 1110 Barton Springs Rd.. $25 general admission, $20 AFTM members, $15 students, free 12 and under. Special note: the opening act at this year’s festival is the Lost Klezmer Ramblers, including Lisa Schneider and Eric Vormelker (1pm) and Women Singing (2:25-2:45).
