ELECTIONS and AIFD Appreciation Night

This week we will hold elections for the 2026-7 AIFD Board of Directors. This will also be AIFD's Appreciation Night - where we will celebrate all the people who help keep us dancing.

Link of the week:
Maple Leaf Rag (1902). Composed by the "King of Ragtime" Scott Joplin, this tune was unfairly associated with Jim Crow racism. In fact, Ragtime heavily influenced what became Swing, Lindy, and may popular dance styles that continue to influence and inspire all of us, This week Misi and Rebecca will introduce a nice couples dance that fits well with the music.

AIFD Board Elections for 2026-7 Board of Directors - May 15.

Elections were originally scheduled for May 8. However, Hancock Recreation Center will be closed for maintenance that day. So elections will be rescheduled May 15.
