John ScalesJanie HopkinsEnjoy a lively evening of folk dancing this Friday DJ'd by John Scales. John will be assisted by Janie Hopkins.

Teaching: Come at 7 pm as Misi Tsurikov and Celsa Sanchez review the two dances they taught last week -- Pasacatre and Polka Mazurca De Tejina -- and originally learned at SAFDF 2019. Then, Misi teams up with Elizabeth Wong to teach Tango Poquito, a tango-themed mixer dance that Nelda Drury originally taught and that Andy Taylor-Blenis brought to us at SAFDF 2019.

Admission fee is $5 for those 18 and older.

There is no fee for those under 18,

7:30 - 9:45 pm, Hancock Recreation Center Back Room. Free.

More Hambo? Join the Austin Scandinavian Dance and Music Jam on Wednesday, May 8, from 7:45 - 8:15 pm in the Hancock Rec Center Back Room for a half hour of live music especially for schottis and (mostly) hambo. Stephanie and maybe some others will be available to answer questions and dance, but no formal teaching is planned. Feel free to stay for additional dancing to the jam session.

Saturday, May 18: Táncház
Gyertek! Come one, come all! – Táncház on Saturday, May 18, 3:30-5:30, in the Showroom of Go Dance Studios North (located in Northcross Mall). $5-$10, sliding scale.
hajnalcsillag_danceHajnalcsillag Hungarian Folk Dance Group is a new organization formed by Zsuzsi & Peti Veres and Genevieve Kent with the vision of spreading the joy of Hungarian music and dance. Join them for the group's first táncház, where they'll teach intro to Mezőségi couple dances. No partner or experience necessary.
